Upcycling

                                                    ................Before...............................................After............................
I traced a romper that I have for the baby, but I definitely prefer using a pattern. I like the predictability. Having said that, these turned out peachy.
With the double layer of rib knit along the crotch the snaps were a little hard to attach and I'm worried that they may pop out if I tug to hard during diaper changes. (I haven't used snaps too often but I am eyeing some pretty cowboy pearl style snaps at Etsy for a future cowboy shirt for the baby). Overall I'm pleased as punch by these cuties.

(Of course the idea is inspired by Dana from MADE. She is so darn creative)

  3. Way cute, and what a fun idea!! Did you use repurposed ribbing, or did you buy new?

  4. Kimberly,I have problems sleeping at night so I stay up late sewing... or watching garbage on t.v. Katie, I used old new ribbing for the project. I always try to keep some basic rib knit on hand. Since it takes so little it's usually just scraps I find stuffed in some sewing drawer.

  5. I agree...Dana is just too creative that it's unbearably awesome! :) I love your rompers. I've been wanting to upcycle some of my husbands T-shirts into clothes for my son. Thanks for the encouragement and bravery of doing this. It helps me get one step closer. :) I am right there with you in feeling more secure with a pattern.
