KCWC: Day Six

I made another nightgown using the Badminton Dress pattern.

I'm more motivated than ever to find a soft drapey beautiful fabric to make this nightgown again. It's a bit stiff like the first one I made.

I had a terrible time taking photos of this white dress.  Sorry for these shitty pics. I also should have pressed it before it made it's debut. Sewing this a second time around was easier. I am happier with the topstitching.

  1. So, so pretty. The pink and white is so classic and lovely.

It can be really tricky sourcing really soft light cottons - all of the adorable quilting cottons are mostly a bit stiff.

Incidentally, do you ever shop at Hart's Fabric in Santa Cruz? I used to work there when I was going to college at UCSC (so, um, like 15 years ago now). Anyway, they have beautiful stuff, always did.

  2. Oooh I love this color combo! Something very sweet and summery about it. And your photos? I think they are always stellar.

  3. Oh, this looks lovely! I love the soft colors you chose, and I should really check out this pattern. Have you seen the new cotton couture solids from Michael Miller? They are soft, drapery, and relatively lightweight, so would make a lovely and comfie nightgown. Hmmm, I might need to get on that myself! ;)
