So hip it hurts!

My child will not wear a jacket. I don't care how cold it is he refuses. We have only been able to get him to wear a jacket when going to the park because he understands the concept of "you will not get to play unless you wear this torture device".

Chef took this picture on his phone a few weeks ago when he took the boys to the park. Remember this jacket? As you can see from the photo it doesn't really fit too well anymore. I considered making another in the exact same fabric. That is how much I love this jacket.

It's not quite exactly the same :)

The best part is the lining

I used an old t-shirt of Vinny's (size 12-18 months) that I think I bought at Target when they had a lot of cute licensed tee's. I was bummed when he outgrew it, but I set it aside knowing I would find a use for the shirt. I cut out the image and straight stitched it to the jacket lining back panel before construction. Oh, and that lining....It's my Moby Wrap! It's a heavy weight knit (interlock?) with enough stretch to be cozy and enough stability that it sewed up pretty much like a woven.

I used the faux piping technique like I have in the past and it turned out great. I just wish I had ordered a reversible zip online because the jacket looks so cute both ways. Of course I don't know how it looks on because I don't feel like going to the park today!

It is ridiculously hip and the black contrast tops it off. Glad to see you're back with your too-cool boy's clothes again!

I love this new version, especially the Beatles bit. Too bad I'm hoping to use my moby wrap again, it's clearly a great upcycle item. Happy new year!

Love it! I'm getting ready to make another car hoodie too, with the purple and green cars fabrics.:)

It's awesome. Great use of the old Moby Wrap, too - that's a lot of high quality yardage!

Love it! The lining is fantastic, reckon you could probably still wear it reversed by pulling it on over his head three-quarters zipped :) I need to try out your faux piping.

It's official - you are amazing! The details on this jacket are awesome and if Vinny doesn't want to wear it, I will!

What is it with these kids. My son refuses to wear a jacket too. If he did I would have to make one of these. I have black cars waiting for something cool.

The hoodie is awesome - love the way you've reused an old t-shirt. Bummer that Vinnny doesn't like wearing jackets, hopefully he gets over it soon.

Okay, I freaked when I saw the cars in aqua, then you were like - kazaam! Beatles! And that was wicked cool, but using your Moby wrap? That sent tears pouring from my eyes that the same piece of fabric wrapping and calming your little infant is now wrapped around him as a tot...maybe it will help calm!?! Love it.
