The California Rodeo Salinas is celebrating it's 100th anniversary...
Rocco was invited to attend a fun event called the Special Buckaroos Rodeo for special needs children in our area. It was a great day and look... it's Wilford Brimley! Remember him from Cocoon? (I've really dated myself now). He was the Grand Marshall of the horse parade. Each child is paired up with a real cowboy participating in the rodeo events. They get to try things like bull riding on a hay bale (I'm serious), playing around with lassos, and cavorting with rodeo clowns (I have it on good authority that the clown in the checkered shirt is still drunk from last night). The best part was that Rocco felt like a real cowboy today. Too cool!
We Romeo's aren't really cowboys but we sure are enjoying the events. Yeehaw!
