Hoarding...not fabric, just junk

You know that show Hoarders? I've watched a few episodes. It's actually a little disturbing. Have you ever wondered what those people were like as children? What made them into the adult that lives amongst garbage?

I introduce you to a future hoarder. I'm a little disturbed.
When school ended this year I just put the kids backpacks in the closet and didn't feel like going through them. Today I decided to empty out Luca's backpack. This photo doesn't really show how massive the pile of shit really is. What is not shown in this photo is one shoe, a shirt, a bandana, a mitten, and oh yes, a small tupperware container with a dead moth. Really.

OH I can absolutely relate! My 6yo girl is exactly the same.... and don't forget cut up bits of paper, thousands of them strewn all over her room. I happily clean my 3 boys bedrooms, but "her" room? No way!! She's on her own. ;)

Yeah, so....I can relate. I was that kid. Fortunately as an adult, I've been able to curb most of my hoarding desires, but I totally used to pay my friend Stacey to clean out my 4th grade desk every now and then. It was too overwhelming for me, and I knew I wouldn't be able to part with anything.

I clean out bags and cupboard quite regularly, because my children are exactly the same. They collect everything. Little branches, leafs, stones, paper scraps, broken toys, dirty handkerchiefs... Well, you get the picture.
I wouldn't worry about this at her age.

What? Look at that picture of that sweet girl? There's no way that she's a hoarder!
Although I have to admit, the dead moth is a little concerning :)
That is too funny!!

Oh man this is so funny! I have a bit of this problem. Used to be with my backpack, now it's my purse. When my purse gets all full of crap I just switch to another one so I don't have to face it. Hopefully Luca's hoarding stops at bags and never takes over her house :)

Yup! Thank you for posting this and generating comments. Its quite refreshing to see that someone else's child creates as much 'stuff' as mine!

But all those things are just sooo important(!) I worry about what I inadvertantly end up with in my hands/pocket...mostly lego people, but I ended up with a plastic farmer( who once sat on a tractor so kind of looked like he needed the toilet!) and a car with no back wheels and a "precious" stone..."dont throw them out mum"

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! I can relate. Oh how I can relate. I have three just like this. I wonder where they can possibly have gotten it from. My purse looks nothing like this (er...um...ahem.)
