A few weeks ago I bought a variety of seersucker fabric from fabric.com. I do find it difficult to buy fabric online and I have my fair share of "Oh no that is so awful it must immediately go into a pile far far away from my eyes."
Out of the pile of fabric that arrived there were more than usual that fall into that category. Here is one that does not have to be banished.
I love the wide stripe and light summery feel of the fabric. I made a pair of pants based off of an existing pant that he has outgrown. I totally guessed on the length so they are about 2 inches too long. Good thing they look cute rolled up.
Do any of you notice that when you buy lot's of fabric you sew less? I've been getting packages in the mail at an alarming rate, yet all I have to show are these pants.

These are so cute and summery! I do notice that!! I have been *trying* to buy less, and I think I am sewing just a bit more. ;0)
I am always having buyer's remorse for buying too much fabric, and more importantly, buying too much bad fabric! I've started buying more from fabric.com because they have FREE RETURNS! Yahoo! I wish I had better local shops to go to...
Yes, I have noticed that. Recently, in fact. I currently have more fabric than I have had maybe ever and have really very little to show for it. Wonder what's up with that.
Those pants are sweet. :)
Those little crocs are so cute!
Oh, I love the seersucker pants (few things say summer like seersucker). I was actually eyeing some the other day, but decided to go with some gingham instead (because I have a secret desire to look like a picnic table). And I feel your pain on things coming in the mail and thinking "eww, that's not what I thought it was going to look like!"
I feel like my sewing is very closely related to the weather. The warmer it is the less I want to sit at the machine. I've got a big pile of summery fabric and nothing to show for it! But then again my little one hasn't been wearing a lot of clothes lately, so I guess everything works out. I love those pants!
So true, so true!
I always buy all this awesome fabric and I hate to cut into its prettiness. I want to save it for "the ultimate project".
So all of my awesome fabric ends of sitting there waiting for the best project, and since I do not want to use up all my good stuff, I try to get rid of the stuff I do not like by making things out of it that I end up not liking.
Whatever.
Why do I have that kind of fabric anyway and not just only have awesome fabric to use??
I went nutso at Fabric Depot's annual outdoor clearance sale earlier this month, after vowing to myself that I had to stop buying fabric. I haven't touched it. I also haven't touched the fabric I bought earlier this summer. I'm hoping the cooler weather will inspire me. The pants are stellar - I adore seersucker.
