{birthday lips complete with cake and frosting}
Last week was Vincenzo's second birthday and I had planned to make an adorable little outfit for the occasion. We took him to ride an old fashioned steam train in the Santa Cruz mountains and I pictured him looking all dapper in his new homemade outfit. Well, I just finished the shirt last night and the pants this morning. Good intentions and all that yada yada.
I made an Oliver + S Sketchbook Shirt and a pair of Easy Fit pants. I have such a crush on this new fabric line Children at Play by Sarah Jane Studios. I also bought some of the pinwheel fabric and can't wait to make something with that one.

What an adorable outfit! I love the fabric combination you chose!
Oh my gosh! That bike fabric!!! I could die.
Adorable outfit! He'll look cute in it no matter what day it is. :)
Super cute! How was the shirt? I've been scared off by all the pieces.....but the sketchbook shorts are one of my favorites.
How does this all happen so fast? Wasn't he a baby last week?
Where's your retro dress? I will be hounding you :)
Happy birthday little man!
I want the details on the shirt. The pattern is literally sitting on my sewing table waiting to be traced, but there are a million pieces and I hate tracing, so it is just sitting there. Tell me it is super easy and inspire me to make the shirt happen!
SO cute! Sarah Jane did a great job with designing some wonderful boy fabrics. I just used a bit of the pinwheels on some sailboat pants and i'm totally in love with it. My fabric store didn't have those bicycles!
A-dorable fabric...no wonder you're in love with it.
And just to make you feel better, my best intentions always seem to fall flat too.
What's the saying "the road to hell is paved with good intentions?"
I love that shirt! Happy Birthday to VInny!
I am so in love with those fabrics. So nice to see some appropriate boy fabrics!
That outfit is adorable!! I have some of that line on the way that I ordered and I can't wait to sew with it!
Is it weird that I want to kiss that chocolate crumb right off his little lips! It totally is. I'm deliriously blog commenting. The outfit is darling, stoked about the fabric recommendation and Happy Belated Birthday to little Vinny. And most of all: Happy Belated Birthing Day to you.
I seriously would love to work out a deal to buy the clothes you made for your kids that they've outgrown. They are adorable!
Thanks for stopping by my place. I'm glad your little one had a wonderful birthday!

I love the outfit. Just curious, what pattern did you use to make the shirt. THanks, Olga
