Pattern Challenge: Round Neck Top and Easy Fit Pants

Here's my latest for the Pattern Challenge.

You know that feeling when you sew something and your topstitching is perfect, the buttonholes look immaculate, and the hemline makes it look store bought?
Not this outfit.

The photos don't show it, but the details are just not there. Oh well. She loves it anyway. I used the Round Neck Top/Dress pattern for this top. It's a super simple and well fitting design. I've made a few of these and the only thing I change (but forgot on this top) is that I like to make the bottom band a double layer so there is no visible hemline. For the pants? You guessed it. Easy Fit Pants. Clearly I like to get my money's worth when I purchase a new pattern. I had the fabric for the entire outfit in my stash. The top I'm not sure of the fabric designer (dots are Michael Miller Ta Dot Mustard). The pants are a fabulous French Terry from Harts Fabric. It's one of those fabrics that I've had for a while and never wanted to cut into because I was so scared it would be ruined on the wrong pattern choice. The pink of the pant is the exact same as the pink of one of the trees in the top pattern. I knew this terry fabric needed a wide leg pant so when I started sewing the Easy Fit Pants for the baby I decided to give it a try in size 7. The waist area is all fubar but that's o.k. because a shirt will always be covering it.

Come to think of it, I wonder if the fabric is a Juicy Couture fabric because Hart's Fabric has had some of their fabric before.

p.s. I'm noticing the beginning of a farmers tan on my girl. Going to have to slap some sunblock on her arms before school.

From here it looks great! And I'm sure nobody will even notice the details!

Cute!! I agree - it totally looks great from here. Only another sewist will notice wonky topstitching.
