Quick Change Trousers

I finally got around to making the matching pants to this shirt. It's another pair of Quick Change Trousers. To say I am less than pleased is an understatement.

They look fine in the photos but there are a lot of little things that went wrong and they all add up to the pants looking quite home made. The back yoke doesn't match up (in the photo it magically matches up). Also, the elastic is twisted even though I un-picked it and straightened it out. Clearly, when I thought I was straightening the elastic I was actually twisting it again. The worst part was that I should have cut the knit a little smaller because it bagged out and the hemline is sewn very poorly.

I'm showing them in reverse but really you would never put the denim on the inside. They are comfy pants and I'm definitely going to make a pair in Lego fabric for our trip to Legoland. I'm also definitely not going to line them in knit fabric. Ugh.

Totally unrelated but, remember these pants? They are a little short now and I'm too lazy to let them down. Cenzo loves them because he's kind of bus obsessed these days. He keeps pointing to the patch making loud "bus" noises.

Love the little bus pocket on those trousers!

I need to make a few pairs of quick change trousers for baby number two, but somehow they've fallen down the priority list lately!

I've done the twisty elastic trick more times than I care to admit. Why does something so simple go wrong so often?!

For what it's worth, they look great in the photos.

I love this pattern & it looks great in the pictures - you can't tell anything is amiss. So you wouldn't recommend this pattern in knit? I've thought about it...

Ughh, I hate it when projects don't turn out as planned! (The pants look great in the picture though...shhh...I won't tell anybody about their "issues"). And the bus pants are super-cute. Look at his little baby gut. I love it!

Knit wouldn't be too bad if I had used a more stable knit. Interlock would be great. Maybe next time I'll use interlock because boy, these are some cozy pants. Cenzo is wearing them today and they are adorable mistakes and all!

They look awesome! Sorry they are disappointing to you though irl. Can't wait to see the lego ones.

They look great to me! I'd be stoked if something I made turned out this good, plus you've got to figure if they don't turn out perfect you get less upset when they are not-so-gently worn. The bus pants + toddler belly = super cute!

I want to make raspberries on that delectable little belly...
